The Law Office of
William Hornsby
At the Intersection of Ethics & Opportunity

What I Do
I provide a range of services to help lawyers, legal marketers and legal services providers better understand the various rules of professional conduct and structure their communications and delivery models in ways that are designed to be both effective and compliant.

Services for law firms and legal marketers include:
· Consultations on the ethics of multi-state marketing initiatives
· Memos and opinion letters on the ethics applications of new and existing marketing campaigns
· Website and social media ethics audits

Services for legal services providers include:
· Analysis of the ethics issues involved in delivery systems
· Memos and opinion letters addressing the ethics impact on the use of various technologies
· Collaborative consultations on crafting compliant delivery models

I am available as a testifying or consulting witness on matters involving the ethics of lawyer advertising, marketing and other forms of client development, unauthorized practice of law, and innovative models of delivering legal services.

Over the past 25 years, I have presented hundreds of programs to law firms, non-profit organizations and conferences throughout the US on the ethics of technology, social media, lawyer advertising and the innovative delivery of legal services. I am available to law firms, associations and non-profit organizations to provide CLE programming. However, I am not accredited as a CLE provider and must present under the banner of a sponsoring entity in order for attendees to receive CLE credits. I frequently provide programming for CLE presentations to non-profit organizations for nothing more than the costs of travel and lodging.

I am a longtime advocate of predictable pricing. Although much of my work is based on hourly fees, I am open to discussing arrangements that include set fees, on-going subscriptions, bracketed fees and value billing. In addition, I will consider reduced fees or pro bono services for clients working toward innovative delivery systems in non-profit settings or with limited resources.
